BANGKOK, The Village Connect | The leading organization of professional coaches in the Asia Pacific Region has welcomed their 10th anniversary with the most anticipated Asia Pacific Alliance of Coaches’ (APAC) 2017 Coaching Conference in Bangkok, Thailand. With the theme “Harmony and Mindfulness for Humanity,” the 2-day conference provided international professionals, delegates, and professional coaches coming from various continents an opportunity to reflect on leveraging coaching to bolster harmony and mindfulness for sustainable growth in teams, private and public sectors and society as a whole.

The theme perfectly embodied coaches who have been instrumental in the success of many, may it be in corporate or in life in general. “As a coach having a more mindful self, coaching shall never be a task, instead would be an advocacy in harmony with the very basic principle of coaching – helping people become successful,” Mr. Julius Ordonez, APAC President shared.

Take-away from the 2-Day Conference

The first day of the conference was opened by Dr. Marshall Goldsmith, the world’s number 1 leadership thinker and number 1 executive coach with his opening keynote, with the topic on “A Buddhist Approach to Changing What You Can Change and Making Peace with What You Cannot Change.” Moreover, Day 2 was opened by Dr. Stephen Murphy-Shigematsu’s keynote address entitled “Coaching and Leading with Heartfulness”. Other remarkable speakers include:

New learnings and fresh perspectives towards coaching were shared among the delegates themselves. Business leader had the chance to enhance their skills not only within themselves but also for team and organizational engagement. On the other hand, HR leaders who have attended the APAC 2017 had the chance to strengthen their coaching skills and explore coaching cultures to boost their companies.

Through APAC 2017, the coaches, businessmen, HR leaders, and other professionals surely realized how powerful a job of a coach is. Likewise, coaches themselves learned more of the importance of their whole selves first before making others better, even outside of the bounds.

The Growing Philippine Delegation

As compared to previous APAC conferences, the impressive turnout this year was a clear sign of the Philippines gaining momentum in embracing coaching. With over 60 ICF-credentialed and professional coaches, corporate executives, HR practitioners and would-be professional coaches, it was the biggest delegation at the APAC 2017 Coaching Conference.
