NRCE 2026 Sponsors and Partners Help Drive Philippine Retail’s “New. Next. Forward.” Journey

MANILA, Philippines — The success of the 32nd National Retail Conference and Expo (NRCE) 2026 was supported by a broad network of companies and organizations that came together to help advance conversations on innovation, technology, customer experience, and the future of Philippine retail.

Held on August 6 and 7 at the SMX Convention Center Manila under the theme “New. Next. Forward.”, NRCE 2026 brought together retailers, business leaders, entrepreneurs, technology providers, suppliers and other industry stakeholders.

The event also carried special significance as the Philippine Retailers Association (PRA) marked its 50th anniversary, making the conference both a celebration of five decades of retail industry development and a platform for examining the opportunities and challenges ahead.

Behind the two-day conference and exhibition was a diverse roster of sponsors and partners representing different segments of the business ecosystem.

SM Retail Leads as Diamond Sponsor

SM Retail served as the Diamond Sponsor of NRCE 2026, supporting the industry’s largest annual gathering of retailers and business stakeholders.

Its participation complemented the conference’s focus on customer-centricity, innovation, operational excellence, and the continuing evolution of Philippine retail.

The partnership was also particularly significant during the PRA’s 50th anniversary year, as the association highlighted the importance of collaboration in strengthening the industry’s future.

Seven Companies Join as Platinum Sponsors

The event’s Platinum Sponsors reflected the growing role of technology, connectivity, data and business transformation in modern retail.

They were ETP International PTE LTD, RELEX, Argon & Co, Globe Business, Converge Global Business, PLDT Enterprise and Salesforce.

The companies represented capabilities spanning digital transformation, artificial intelligence, automation, data, supply-chain management, enterprise technology and connectivity—areas that increasingly influence how retailers operate and serve customers.

Their participation also complemented the conference discussions on how businesses can use technology not simply as an expense, but as a strategic tool for solving operational challenges, improving efficiency and creating better customer experiences.

Gold Sponsors Reflect Retail’s Diverse Landscape

NRCE 2026 also received support from Gold Sponsors Ayala Malls, Centric Software, Unilab, Araneta City, and Robinsons Malls.

Their involvement highlighted the diversity of the retail ecosystem, from shopping centers and consumer-facing businesses to retail technology and product development.

The presence of these companies provided delegates with opportunities to explore different approaches to customer engagement, merchandising, shopping experiences, technology adoption, and business growth.

It also reinforced the broader message of NRCE 2026: innovation in retail is not confined to one format or one industry segment.

Silver Sponsors Add to Industry Collaboration

The conference was further supported by Silver Sponsors Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, Wilcon Depot and Bayer Philippines.

Their participation expanded the range of industries represented at NRCE and illustrated how retail intersects with property, consumer products, healthcare, home improvement and other sectors.

Such cross-industry participation is increasingly important as consumer expectations and technologies move across traditional industry boundaries.

Businesses are now learning not only from direct competitors, but also from companies operating in entirely different categories.

Official Partners Extend the Reach of NRCE

A group of Official Partners also contributed to the success of NRCE 2026. These included InnovationOne, TBWA\SMP, AVolution, The Philippine Star, Philippine Daily Inquirer, BusinessWorld, The Manila Times and NegoSentro.

Their contributions represented different aspects of the broader retail ecosystem, including innovation, communications, creative services and media.

The involvement of these organizations helped strengthen the conference as a platform not only for business networking but also for sharing ideas and extending industry conversations beyond the event venue.

Additional Sponsors Support the Retail Community

NRCE 2026 also received support from CMG Retail Inc., EcloudValley and Sportshouse.

Although operating in different areas, the organizations shared a common connection to the wider retail and business community and contributed to the event’s broader ecosystem of suppliers, service providers and industry stakeholders.

The diversity of the sponsor roster underscored the changing nature of retail itself.

Modern retail increasingly depends on an interconnected network of technology providers, telecommunications companies, consultants, property developers, consumer brands, creative organizations and business service providers.

Media Sponsors Help Extend the NRCE Conversation

The impact of NRCE 2026 also extended beyond the SMX Convention Center through the participation of its media sponsors and partners.

Among those supporting the event were The Philippine Star, Philippine Daily Inquirer, BusinessWorld, The Manila Times and NegoSentro.

Their participation helped bring NRCE stories and industry discussions to a broader audience, allowing insights from the conference and exhibition to reach business owners, executives, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders beyond those who attended the event.

The role of media has become increasingly important as retail transformation accelerates. Discussions surrounding artificial intelligence, digital commerce, customer experience, sustainability and Filipino brand competitiveness have implications well beyond the retail industry itself.

Through news coverage, digital publishing and online amplification, media organizations help turn industry events into continuing conversations.

A Network Behind the “New. Next. Forward.” Message

The sponsor and partner roster reflected the central message of NRCE 2026.

“New” represented the technologies, ideas and business models reshaping retail.

“Next” pointed toward emerging opportunities and the need for businesses to anticipate change.

“Forward” emphasized the importance of taking action.

For the Philippine retail industry, the participation of companies across multiple sectors demonstrated that the future of commerce will depend increasingly on collaboration.

Retailers need technology partners. Technology companies need businesses willing to innovate. Consumers need better experiences. Media organizations help circulate knowledge. Consultants and service providers help businesses implement change.

Each plays a role in moving the industry forward.

PRA Marks 50 Years With a Strong Industry Network

The breadth of support for NRCE 2026 was particularly meaningful as the Philippine Retailers Association celebrated its 50th anniversary.

For five decades, PRA has served as a platform for retailers and related businesses to collaborate, exchange knowledge and contribute to the development of the Philippine retail sector.

NRCE 2026 demonstrated how that role continues to evolve as the industry faces a new generation of challenges involving artificial intelligence, digital transformation, changing consumer behavior, sustainability and global competitiveness.

The event’s sponsors and partners formed an important part of that continuing journey.

Their support helped create opportunities for businesses to discover new solutions, establish connections, explore partnerships and gain insights into the forces shaping the market.

A Collective Contribution to Philippine Retail

The success of NRCE 2026 ultimately reflected more than the work of its organizers. It demonstrated what can happen when businesses, industry organizations, technology providers and media companies come together around a common platform.

The PRA’s recognition of its sponsors, official partners and media supporters highlighted their contribution to creating an environment where ideas could be exchanged, business relationships could develop and retailers could prepare for the future.

As Philippine retail enters another period of rapid transformation, the lessons from NRCE 2026 remain relevant: businesses will need to learn faster, adapt more quickly, embrace useful technologies and continue putting customers at the center of their decisions.

But they will also need partners.

And the extensive network behind NRCE 2026 demonstrated that Philippine retail has a growing ecosystem ready to help businesses take that next step.

New. Next. Forward.

The journey of Philippine retail continues—with collaboration, innovation and a shared commitment to building what comes next.

Sinclair The New Generation Paint, the flagship paint brand of Magna Prime Chemical Technologies, Inc. (MPCTI), officially launched the 2026 Sinclair National Art Competition last July 31, 2026, at the Sinclair Pro Store in Del Monte, Quezon City. The launch brought together members of the media, artists, gallery professionals, educators, and industry leaders to introduce a nationwide platform dedicated to Filipino creativity, artistic innovation, and the exploration of decorative finishes as a medium for art.

Leading the launch was Inv. Derrick A. Tan, President & CEO of Magna Prime Chemical Technologies, Inc., together with the competition’s distinguished Board of Judges: Mr. Francisco A. Valdecantos, Managing Director of Kape Kesada Art Gallery and Artillera Gallerie; Ms. Arleen Lipana, Visual Artist, Curator, Marketing Strategist, Advertising Consultant, Writer, and Events Producer; Mr. Romeo E. Gutierrez, Painter, Printmaker, and Art Educator; and Mr. Eleazar Abraham “Abe” L. Orobia, Artist, Educator, Curator, Writer, and Cultural Advocate. Their participation underscores the competition’s commitment to bringing together established voices from the Philippine art and creative communities.

Now in its latest edition, the 2026 Sinclair National Art Competition seeks to provide Filipino artists with a national platform to experiment with new materials, techniques, and forms of artistic expression. At the heart of the competition are Sinclair Makaw Microcement Lime Plaster & Effect Paints and Obra Viva, which will serve as the artistic media for participants. Through these materials, artists are encouraged to explore texture, dimension, color, movement, and surface design in creating original works that demonstrate both artistic vision and craftsmanship.

The competition is open to entries from August 1 to December 31, 2026, giving artists nationwide an opportunity to participate and showcase their creativity. It features two categories: Representational Obra (Figurative) and Wall Obra (Non-Representational/Abstract).

The Representational Obra category carries this year’s theme, “Creating Horizons for the New Generation.” Artists are invited to interpret the theme through figurative works that express ideas of hope, culture, family, community, and nation-building. The category encourages artists to translate their perspectives on the future into compelling visual narratives using the competition’s designated artistic media.

Meanwhile, the Wall Obra category focuses on non-representational and abstract expressions designed for wall applications. Participants are challenged to develop creative surface concepts that demonstrate how artistic expression can become an integral part of residential, commercial, and public spaces. Through this category, the competition opens opportunities for artists to explore the relationship between art, architecture, interior design, and the surfaces that shape everyday environments.

The launch also highlighted Sinclair’s continuing commitment to championing Filipino creativity and supporting the development of the local art community. By placing material innovation at the center of the competition, Sinclair aims to encourage artists to discover new possibilities in the way they create, interpret, and present their work.

Inv. Derrick A. Tan, President & CEO of Magna Prime Chemical Technologies, Inc.

“Creativity has always been an important part of innovation. Through this competition, we want to allow Filipino artists to explore materials in new ways and express their ideas through a medium that extends beyond traditional artistic surfaces,” said Inv. Derrick A. Tan, President & CEO of Magna Prime Chemical Technologies, Inc.

The works will be evaluated by the distinguished panel of judges, with criteria that recognize artistic excellence, creativity, craftsmanship, technical execution, and effective use of the designated media. Winners will be announced during National Arts Month in February 2027, with winning artists receiving recognition for their creative achievements.

The 2026 Sinclair National Art Competition represents Sinclair’s continuing effort to create meaningful opportunities for Filipino artists while expanding the possibilities of decorative surface design. More than a showcase of artistic talent, the initiative aims to inspire creators to see materials and surfaces in new ways and to contribute fresh perspectives to the evolving relationship between art and the built environment.

The official competition mechanics, registration guidelines, and entry requirements are now available. Artists, designers, art enthusiasts, and creative communities are encouraged to visit www.sinclair.com.ph/decorative/sinclairnationalartcompetition for the complete competition details and requirements, and follow Sinclair The New Generation Paint for official announcements, competition updates, event highlights, and other activities throughout the 2026 Sinclair National Art Competition.

SHANGHAI / via PR Newswire / — UnionPay International (UPI) and Samsung Electronics have announced a strategic global partnership to accelerate mobile payment adoption by integrating UnionPay’s payment network into Samsung Wallet, enabling both NFC contactless and QR code payments through a unified mobile experience.

The collaboration is built on UnionPay’s proprietary “NFC-QRC all-in-one” mobile payment solution, allowing cardholders worldwide to bind their UnionPay cards to Samsung Wallet and flexibly choose their preferred payment method at the point of sale. Hong Kong SAR has been confirmed as the first market to implement the service, with BOC Credit Card (International) Co., Ltd. serving as the inaugural issuing partner.

Strengthening Asia’s Digital Payments Ecosystem

The launch marks a significant milestone in Asia’s rapidly expanding digital payments landscape. Samsung Wallet is currently available across 62 countries and regions, positioning the partnership to substantially broaden UnionPay’s reach among Android users while supporting faster local digital card issuance.

To support early adoption in Hong Kong, UnionPay International and Samsung Electronics will roll out exclusive instant discount promotions for UnionPay cardholders using Samsung Galaxy devices, reinforcing consumer engagement in one of Asia’s most advanced financial hubs.

Leadership Perspectives on Cross-Border Innovation

Larry Wang, Chief Executive Officer of UnionPay International, emphasized the collaboration’s role in advancing inclusive payment infrastructure:

“By combining UnionPay’s global payment capabilities with Samsung’s device and platform ecosystem, this partnership demonstrates how open collaboration can strengthen cross-border mobile payments. Our goal is to make international transactions more convenient, efficient, and accessible for consumers and merchants alike.”

Woncheol Chai, Executive Vice President and Head of the Digital Wallet Team at Samsung Electronics’ Mobile eXperience (MX) Business, highlighted the strategic value of the initiative:

“This partnership goes beyond technical integration. It represents a major step toward delivering a secure, convenient, and scalable mobile payment environment. By leveraging Samsung’s global reach and UnionPay’s deep issuer and merchant relationships, we expect to accelerate the adoption of mobile payments both online and offline, not only in Greater China but globally.”

Stephen Chan, Deputy Chief Executive of Bank of China (Hong Kong), noted the importance of the Hong Kong launch:

“We are pleased that BOC Credit Card is the first institution in Hong Kong to support this joint initiative. The service gives our UnionPay cardholders early access to Samsung Wallet integration while reinforcing Hong Kong’s role as a testing ground for next-generation mobile payment innovation.”

One Wallet, Multiple Payment Options

UnionPay’s NFC-QRC all-in-one solution enables a single mobile application to support multiple payment formats, allowing partner institutions outside mainland China to deploy NFC and QR-based UnionPay services simultaneously. This flexibility addresses diverse market needs while simplifying mobile payment rollouts for issuers.

UnionPay mobile payment services are now accepted in over 100 countries and regions. Outside mainland China, UnionPay Mobile QuickPass is supported by more than 23 million POS terminals, while UnionPay QR code interoperability initiatives have been implemented or are progressing in approximately 50 markets, covering tens of millions of merchants worldwide.

Phased Expansion Planned Beyond Hong Kong

Following the initial rollout, UnionPay International and Samsung Electronics plan to expand the service to additional markets in phases, subject to regulatory approvals and technical readiness. The partnership reflects a broader regional and global push to modernize payment infrastructure, promote cashless economies, and enhance secure digital transaction experiences for consumers and businesses.

Village Connect Ph | Hope Rises in Biñan: The Golden Arches Behind Bahay Bulilit’s Mission | By Patrick John Bito-on – In every corner of the Philippines, the laughter of children echoes with dreams waiting to unfold. But for many Filipino families, the simple wish of giving their children a safe and nurturing space to learn and grow remains a daily challenge. For working parents—especially those from low-income communities—finding a day care center that provides both education and care can often feel like an unreachable dream.

Day care centers in the Philippines play a vital role in shaping the hearts and minds of our youngest learners. These centers are not merely places where children are looked after—they are foundations of hope, creativity, and early education. Here, young minds begin to imagine, explore, and build confidence in a safe and loving environment. Yet, despite their importance, many barangays still lack access to properly equipped facilities and trained caregivers.

Recognizing this gap, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) launched one of its most impactful flagship programs—the Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit Learning Center (RMBBLC). This program aims to ensure that every Filipino child, regardless of social standing, has access to a proper learning space during their formative years. In partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and local government units (LGUs), each Bahay Bulilit serves as a beacon of hope for communities—providing a space where children can learn, play, and dream freely.

Within every Bahay Bulilit, trained daycare workers guide children through early lessons in reading, writing, and social interaction. But more than just academics, these centers offer warmth and belonging—a home away from home for little learners. Parents, too, find comfort in knowing that while they work, their children are cared for, nourished, and educated in a safe environment.

To date, 51 Bahay Bulilit Learning Centers have been built nationwide—and RMHC’s mission continues to grow stronger. Their goal? To establish 100 Bahay Bulilit Learning Centers by 2028, ensuring that thousands more Filipino children gain access to early education and holistic care.

Last October 24, another milestone marked this journey of compassion and progress. George Yang, the visionary founder of McDonald’s Philippines, led the turnover of the 52nd Ronald McDonald Bahay Bulilit Learning Center in Barangay Poblacion, Biñan, Laguna. The event was graced by Alden Richards and Mayor Gel Alonte, who joined in the celebration of this new home of learning. The most touching moment came when the children performed an interpretative dance to express their gratitude—a heartfelt reminder that kindness always finds its way back.

Through Bahay Bulilit, the community comes together—businesses, government, and families united by one vision: to nurture the next generation. Because every smile, every step, and every song sung by these children represent not just happiness—but hope.

As RMHC continues its mission, it proves that when people come together with compassion, even the smallest spaces—like a Bahay Bulilit—can build a nation filled with brighter futures.

Villageconnectph | CONNECT Manila 2025 Unites the Real Estate Industry in a Groundbreaking Afternoon of Collaboration and Opportunity | In an inspiring afternoon that brought together the most influential names and emerging professionals in Philippine real estate, CONNECT Manila 2025 proved that collaboration, innovation, and community remain the true pillars of progress in the industry.

Organized by Lamudi Philippines and Dot Property Group, the event took place at the elegant Peninsula Manila, where the country’s top developers, brokers, media representatives, and real estate experts gathered for an afternoon of insights, networking, and opportunity sharing. The turnout exceeded expectations, filling the ballroom with energy and anticipation for what has become one of the most anticipated industry gatherings of the year.

The event showcased a vibrant lineup of developer booths, each serving not just as a display but as an experience—engaging attendees through interactive presentations, accreditation sign-ups, and special activities designed to deepen connections between developers and the broker community.

For brokers, CONNECT Manila 2025 was more than just another networking event—it was a platform for building genuine business relationships. The stamp card activity, accreditation stations, and on-site interactions allowed participants to explore partnerships, gain new listings, and stay updated on the latest project offerings.

A highlight of the afternoon was a series of powerful talks and discussions that explored the future of Philippine real estate. Industry leaders shared insights on digital transformation, sustainability, and the evolving role of brokers in a more data-driven landscape. One of Lamudi’s senior executives noted that CONNECT Manila stands apart because it fosters genuine dialogue—where every speaker, developer, and broker contributes to a deeper understanding of where the industry is headed.

The program’s seamless flow and engaging moderation kept attendees tuned in from start to finish. From the keynote sessions to the open forum, each segment offered valuable takeaways for developers and real estate professionals alike—helping them refine their strategies for 2025 and beyond.

CONNECT Manila 2025 was more than a business event—it was a celebration of collaboration and shared purpose. Over 150 confirmed attendees filled the venue, surpassing initial targets, while dozens more joined as walk-ins. The enthusiasm reflected the growing optimism in the property market and the eagerness of industry players to reconnect after years of rapid digital transformation and shifting consumer demands.

The event also underscored the invaluable role of its media partners, whose coverage amplified the message of connection and progress. Among them were Manila Standard, BusinessWorld, Philippine Daily Inquirer, Inquirer Property, World’s Executive Digest, Negosentro Media, Mediablast Digital, Village Connection, Bravo Filipino, Yo Manila, Property Finds Asia, and Real Estate Blog PH.

As the afternoon concluded with closing remarks and heartfelt thanks, the message was clear: CONNECT Manila is not just a one-time gathering—it’s the beginning of an ongoing movement. Plans are already underway for the next CONNECT event, promising even more opportunities for learning, collaboration, and partnership across the real estate ecosystem.

CONNECT Manila 2025 succeeded not only in meeting its goals but also in redefining what an industry event can be: an experience rooted in connection, powered by collaboration, and driven by a shared vision of a stronger, more dynamic real estate community in the Philippines.

As DTI Secretary Ma. Cristina Roque takes direct supervision over CIAP and PCAB, can they now level-up their transparency by building on the gains of their digital platform?

MANILA, Philippines – In a decisive move to restore integrity and transparency, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ma. Cristina A. Roque, Chair of the Construction Industry Authority of the Philippines (CIAP), has placed CIAP and its implementing boards, including the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB), under her direct supervision.

In their Facebook post, Roque said, “Placing them under my direct supervision will ensure that order, transparency, and accountability are restored within these agencies.”

Digitalization as a Strong Foundation

Secretary Roque is coming in at a time when PCAB has already set in place a strong digitalization framework under the leadership of the PCAB Board and Executive Director Atty. Herbert Matienzo. This pioneering shift to online systems proved crucial during the pandemic and is now providing a reliable platform for reforms.

Among PCAB’s notable digital initiatives are:

Online Contractor’s Licensing System (OCLS): Simplified license applications and renewals through a fully online process.

E-Payment Integration: Allowed safer, faster, and more secure transactions.

Real-Time Tracking: Gave contractors visibility into application status, reducing delays and red tape.

Remote Accessibility: Provided nationwide access, especially for contractors in provinces far from Metro Manila.

Advantages Moving Forward

With these digital reforms already in place, Secretary Roque’s direct supervision is expected to accelerate accountability and transparency across CIAP and PCAB. The existing systems:

Provide a clear audit trail for transactions.

Reduce opportunities for corruption and mismanagement.

Improve service efficiency and stakeholder confidence.

Ensure that reforms can be implemented on a stable, modern platform.

The foundation of digitalization allows PCAB to enforce full transparency and accountability more effectively. Those who breach the public trust will be held accountable, but those who serve with integrity will now be supported by a stronger, more transparent system.

Restoring Trust in the Industry

This integration of leadership oversight and digital transformation signals a new era for the Philippine construction industry, one built on accountability, good governance, and efficiency. By leveraging and leveling-up digital systems that are already in place, the DTI may be positioned to not only restore order but also elevate industry standards for years to come.

VillageConnect | Lamudi Recognizes Top Developers, Launches New Platform at The Outlook 2024: Philippine Real Estate Awards |

Lamudi’s The Outlook 2024: Philippine Real Estate Awards recognized the country’s leading developers and key players last November 21, 2024. The property platform presented 19 awards during the gala night at Shangri-La The Fort, Manila, acknowledging exceptional achievement across the industry. It also introduced new award titles that cater to the country’s reputation as a top luxury property market.

“As I look around this room, I see leaders who have shaped the skylines of our cities — leaders who have contributed to the growth of our economy and leaders who have built opportunities for families to live in their dream homes,” Michael Raquiza, Chief Executive Officer of Lamudi Philippines, welcomed the brightest minds, boldest visionaries, and most dedicated real estate professionals in the Philippines.

“The real estate market, like any other sector, is not immune to change,” he added. “Economic shifts, evolving consumer behaviors, and tech advancements require us all to remain agile, innovative, and collaborative. And that’s why events like tonight are so important. They allow us to come together, share insights, and build the partnerships necessary to shape the future of our industry.”

“From developers to financial institutions, and from policymakers to brokers, you all have played a pivotal role in driving the industry forward,” stated Lamudi CEO Michael Raquiza during The Outlook 2024: Philippine Real Estate Awards.

Apart from citations for the best houses and condominium developments across the country, Lamudi recognized the developers and projects that are building the future of real estate, one innovative and sustainable solution at a time. The Outlook 2024 acknowledged developers who are catering to market demand across different segments in established locations and emerging hotspots nationwide.

During his opening remarks, Raquiza said. “At Lamudi, our mission has always been clear: to connect people to their dream homes, empower real estate professionals with cutting-edge tools, and build a transparent, accessible, and efficient property marketplace.” It was a subtle introduction to a later segment of the night, which is the launch of Lamudi Connect by Mark Nosworthy, the Group CEO and Director of Lamudi’s parent company, Digital Classifieds Group (DCG).

Lamudi Connect allows developers, brokerages, and licensed brokers to co-exist in one platform that provides the necessary tools and support for seamless transactions. It lets developers widen their network and sales channels while disseminating accurate project information in real time.

The app gives real estate professionals limitless access to marketing materials that they can cascade to clients in the Philippines and abroad. Through this platform, brokers also gain access to the latest projects by top developers, professional development training, and upcoming industry events.

The Outlook 2024: Philippine Real Estate Awards is a testament to Lamudi’s commitment to helping Filipinos find their dream property and remain at the forefront of the property marketplace. As Raquiza said earlier in the night, it was a time to “celebrate excellence, recognize innovation, and build the future of real estate — one outstanding development and one groundbreaking solution at a time.”

The event partners include gold sponsor Panasonic, silver sponsor BPI, and minor sponsors Zalora and Santos Knight Frank. The gala’s media partners are Philippine Daily Inquirer, Inquirer Property, Manila Bulletin, Manila Standard, Philstar, Business World, Manila Times, and Malaya Business Insight.
