Exploring the Philippines One Town at a Time with GMA News TV’s Me and My Town

GMA News TV launches Me and My Town, the newest Magazine and Travel Show aimed to promote the unique charm of cities and towns in the country by featuring its tourist attractions, food, culture and the arts. It offers an interesting twist, instead of just the host’s perspective, the show would also feature a prominent personality who is a native in the province and tour around the hometown.
No one knows a place unlike those who grew up there. Instead of learning the whole province with the host, the native guest would showcase insider travel tips and valuable information that only those who were born there would know.
The show seeks to empower a Filipino’s love for their own town, an avenue for providing information and learnings that can be a source of inspiration and appreciation. To show good governance and to let the towns really shine.
The show airs every Sunday, 9:30 am on GMA News TV Channel 11 and is hosted by veteran broadcast Journalist, Kathy San Gabriel.
Along with this show GMA News TV will also push for an online platform so that it could reach more people.
The pilot episode will air on August 12, Sunday at 9:30 am and the first destination is Imus, Cavite. It will take the audience to a mix of modern and historic places in the city.
The city is a hybrid of modern and historical parts. While it is rich in culture, food and historical sites; businesses are also flourishing, modern plants and factories will be visited that paint an image of a developing city.
Congressman Alex “AA” Advincula will be joining the adventure around his hometown. He’s a full bred Imuseno that would take a new picture of Imus that was never seen before. From the historical sites to the modern infrastructure programs and projects that Cong. AA has envisioned that has now come to life.
Explore beyond the outer image of Imus to its modern places and busy streets on the pilot episode of Me and My Town on August 12, Sunday at 9:30 am on GMA News TV.
